It'll be interesting to see what Armstrong does in August. The sponsor is on board for 2011 and I'm sure there will be a contract that means they can't pull out just because of a takeover.

    The rumours are getting stronger.

Centaurus Capital also mentioned as possible buyer.

Radioshack has certainly used the Armstrong link very well.

The company's profile is the most attractive its been in a long time -- a lot of TV spots and the stores look much better than they used too. Of course, most people have been in one of the stores since 1979.

As Gekko said in Wall Street -- "dump it."

I know it's a different situation, but XL going bust when they were sponsoring West Ham a few years ago is something to consider

No they haven't. The ads have been horrible and clearly from someone who has no idea who/what Lance is/about. The guy is constantly on twitter, tied to his crackberry, his kids communicate with him via web cam, he's got tons of websites, they use GPS, etc. ALL things Radioshack sells. Yet nowhere in ANY of their ads did they have Lance doing/using/talking about any of those things.

Call us when the space shuttle lands -- you're clueless.

Prior to LA, Radioshack was never on TV -- it had no image, spokesperson, or entry point to any market. The texas cowboy has changed that -- just like what he has done with Michelob Ultra, something that was once described as Chickelob.

Traditionally, Radioshack sold junk to people who still listen to 8 track tapes. (I'm assuming you are one of them.)

And you don't pay attention to the spots -- because in a glass case next to the doper, what does it contain -- iphones and all the junk you mention. Stop looking at Lance, all the toys are there.

    The Lance effect?

It is not about selling the toys, but the value of the shares. It seems that Lance has helped.
