Not sure if I am being a bit "simple" here...
but I bought a Thule Xpress 970 Towbar Mount Cycle Carrier http://www.skidrive.co.uk/cycle/product_detail.php?partno=970000 and despite one of its key features being "Fits all frame dimensions" we couldn't get my bike (unknown frame), my brothers (Trek 6500) or my neighbours (GT 3 or something) to fit at all.
The distance between the two arms that stick out to hold the bikes was too wide to fit between the Head Tube and the Seat post.
I'm going to have another try tonight without it fitted to the car to see if we were being daft but I was wondering if anyone else has had problems with this carrier?
thanks.

put one "arm" behind the seat post under the seat stay, or put an "arm" under the down tube by the fork."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Yer i thought they clamped the down tube ? I've not used one myself but a mate uses one with a wide range of bike and he seems to get on ok with it ?0
