Trek warranty

Those of you who have read my other post will know im looking for a ex demo or secondhand Trek EX8. Does anyone know if the warranty is related to the bike or the as new owner i.e if i bought secondhand would the warrnty still be valid?

    warranty is only valid to the original purchaser, an EX demo may come with some cover from the shop selling it.

    I'm pretty sure you can buy the warranty for a percentage of the price.
