I'm looking to get some shimano clipless shoes but I've heard that you either need to size up/down, at least with mtb spd's. What's the deal with road shoes. I'm a size 10 so do I buy 44, or size down and go to 43 or up to 45. And before anyone suggests it, I have no way of trying any on before I buy them. So, any ideas?
Thanks, Adam

buy em, try em, send em back....

    get your correct size.
  • My 'normal' shoe size is 45 and I went for size 46 shimano M076s.

Initially they felt a little tight, especially the width of the shoe...but now broken in I'm happy with them.

So I'd personally choose a size up with shimano shoes.

I did exactly the same, normally take a 45, sometimes 44, but i settled with a 46 after tring them all on at my LBS.

Size up for shimanos. But nothing beats getting the right size, and trying them on and going a size up and down to see what's more comfy.

I went up a size on my Specialized BGs

Cycling shoes don't seem to stretch much, in my experiance.

If they are too small your toes get scrunched up and I had a few nails fall off!

I just went for a pair that had a large enough toe box so that no toe was making any significant contanct with the front of the shoe, and laces + 3x strap so i could adjust the tightness around the foot easily.

Never had a problem, and I went 1 size over my normal.

    I'm usually a 9.5 but in Shimano I need a 45.
