I've got a seatpost and a stem, both top notch, lightweight and very well finished. Cheap too, can't ask for more!0

Very good, use it myself.0

No probs with my seatpost..Adam.
Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.
Current ride - Yeti ASR 5a X00 -
I have one of their seatposts and its very nice. Not sure how well they'd cope with rough riding but seeing as you have an XC bike they'll be fine.0

I got a "27.2mm" carbon seatpost from Exotic that was too big to fit my Dekerf Team SL or Isaac Pascal even though both bikes are specced to take a 27.2mm post and have never had any problems fitting different 27.2mm posts including my Thomson Elite.
Anyway, I told Exotic the seatpost was defective and requested a replacement to which they responded (I'm paraphrasing) - "Sorry mate, our post is fine. Must be a problem with your 2 bikes and 3 seatposts that fit them."
Still not impressed.0 -
maybe get the seat tube reamed, then give the seatpost another try.
i have use Carbon Seatpost and the Carbon Matrix F Stem with (bought separately) stainless steel bolts. all working quite well0 -
The seat tubes are fine - I have 3 other 27.2mm seatposts that fit both frames easily.
The problem with the Exotic seatpost seems to be an uneven coating of clear lacquer resulting in a very slight bulge but a bulge big enough that the post won't fit without excessive forcing. (Refer to Sheldon Brown's "rules for fitting a seatpost" and excessive force - Sums up as "don't".) I reckon I'll be able to sort the post out with some (very) careful sanding when/if I ever get around to it.
Exotic's aggressive pricing seems to be at the expense of quality control which could be a viable commercial strategy provided they had the customer service to sort things out when defects inevitably arise. Unfortunately, they don't.
In my experience, Exotic's customer service is very, very poor.0 -
I've got a 27.2mm carbon seatpost from them, and it fits my frame just as well as the Ritchey WCS it replaced. I ride quick/agressive XC, so not just canal-side pootles, and it's been fine. It's got a nice bit of flex which takes the sting out of the trail.0

I have got a 100mm stem from them and find it to be perfect 10 /10.
AND WILL DEFINITELY GET MORE PARTS FROM CARBONCYCLES.
5XCR12hr days 5 days a week riding to work and back and still the energy to ride 2 other days0 -
I have heard very little problems with Exotic stuff in regards to QC.
Though of course there are always one offs.0 -

Wot size stem you using as im after a 100mm but there look different from the 60-80mm
cheers
Mine is 80mm and swwweeeeet!0 -
I've got the forks, they're ace... Exactly the same as the Nukeproof ones which cost about half as much again more, just with different logos. felt a bit nervous for the first few rides but they've had some hammer now and they've stood up fine.Uncompromising extremist0

@ Supersonic - You're right. I reckon even the best brands have the occasional defect and I don't hold that against Exotic at all. However, what I have issue with is Exotic's refusal to acknowledge the defect and replace the part. 1 month, 10 emails and mailing the seatpost back and forth only resulted in my extreme frustration and disappointment.
IME, Exotic's customer service is very, very poor.
@ Balls87 - Trade ya.0
