Well done to New Zealand! A non footballing nation taking to the Italians! This is how you play football, with pride, courage and passion! Best game so far. England take note, this Island who's national sport is rugby can teach you a thing or two about football! Well done New Zealand!

Marcel Desailly said before the game that only 3 of the italian players would be good enough to play in the premiership.

You have to hand it to the underdogs that time. Loved the last NZ substitution where the commentator explained that the player coming onto the pitch had to ask for time off from his job at a bank to go play in the World Cup. Bet that made the Italians feel even better...

Italy's problems are similar to Englands.

The Inter team that won the Champions League did not have a single Italian in it. Flood your domestic teams with imports and the national side will suffer.

They are all premier league, but because of the number of imports there is little opportunity for young players to come through and develop their skills at a high level. We have no depth in the squad.

With the weak pound and 50% tax rate hopefully the PL will be a little bit less tempting for foreign players now, and some rising England stars will be tempted to play abroad, where they'll develop a little but more tactical nous.

Nice one NicenSleazy - Well done indeed New Zealand, a really gutsy, determined performance - but then I'm a Kiwi so I would say that.

As far as I'm concerned we've now had two 1-1 victories and our World Cup is already a total success.

I also loved the fact that the Kiwi's last substitute works in a bank and had to get special leave to go and play in the world cup :D It's like one of those FA cups stories where some little local club side plays above itself and has a good run.

Well in rugby union when the Wallabies play the NZ All Blacks at Eden Park in Auckland they call the venue the' house of pain" Incidentally the Wallabies have not won a game at Eden Park since 1984. Guess where the final for next years World Cup is in NZ?
