Hi all,
I'm posting here looking for a little help.
I have 6 weeks off coming up; starting the last week of July (yes.. I'm a teacher).
I am serioursly considering going out to the alps for the whole of summer... to do this however I will need to get a job out there. (I have worked a few ski seasons in my time and hence have spent a great deal of time in the alps.... during the winter though!)
So basically my questions are:
- Any recommendations to set up base camp? (mozine, chamonix etc etc?)
- Does anybody have any contacts I could get hold of to talk about jobs or/ and accomdodation?
- Any tips that would be useful out there?
I'll be hoping to do mostly DH however will be taking other bikes out for XC and playing about.
Any advice, help, contacts would be vastly appreciated!
Thank you,
Clint.

I'm off to Morzine again in a fortnight. It's pretty central and you can ride to Les Gets and Avioraz quite easily. We usually stay at the Hotel Rhodos in the centre of Morzine. It's cheap, bike friendly and the staff are a cheery bunch. They usually have the odd temporary barman or cook so you might want to consider that sort of thing, but bear in mind that being able to get by in a different language will be pretty much a necessity if you're looking for work.
As for taking all those bikes, that'll cost ya, and you'll need somewhere to keep them all.
I'd stick with a heavy duty trail bike if poss, 6" travel or so should do it.
