Differnt front and back wheels for a hybrid?

My hybrid bike needs new wheels. Most of the time I use the bike for nipping around town. Lots of starting and stopping so light and fast-accelerating wheels would be nice. Sometimes I use the bike for touring, so I also need robustness. A minor conflict there then.
Four loaded touring does, is the front wheel also subjected to extra stress? Does the front wheel need to be a tough touring wheel as well as the rear?
Or could I get away with using a light rimed wheel at the front (eg. Mavic Open Pro or Simano RS10) and a touring wheel (eg Mavic A119 or A319?) at the rear?
Alternatively, perhaps I could just get a set of light wheels for normal use, and a spare touring rear wheel?

How much extra weight are we talking [plus your weight?]? Even lightweight wheels can comfortably take a heavy load on the road if built well.0

I'm quite thin. I should think about 66kg/146lbs, and the extra weight would be a pair of ordinary sized panniers packed with general stuff. Perhaps books, or maybe a sleeping bag and a small tent and cloths, or perhaps some tins and packets of food. I doubt the weight would ever total more than an extra 20kg/44lbsn.
Recon a set of hand built Mavic Open Pro rims on Shimano LX hubs would handle that?0 -
I think standard wheels will do just fine.
The wheel combo sounds good - I'd recommend double butted spokes ie ACI or DT Comp 2.0/1.8/2.0.
I assume your rear dropout is 135mm rather than 130mm then. [not too familiar with this bike]0 -
Yeah, 135mm at the rear.
Yes, that build uses double butted spokes.
What do you mean by 'standard wheels'?0 -
Sorry, a meant the lighter ones you suggested rather than a heavy duty set.0
