i used Fed Ex via www.parcel2go.com to get a bike out to france. I read mixed reviews online but the service was absolutely spot on. Picked up lunchtime, delivered next afternoon, and it was cheaper than any quotes i could get directly from couriers.
Not sure about weighing it though....0 -
For weighing the bike..Well this might sound stupid, and it probably was to all that were watching but it got us a weight for the courier when my mate sold some Motorbike wheels/tyres...
We got 2 pieces of 3x2, balanced then on the top of the vans back doors, put some normal house scales on the 3x2, put a length of rope over the scales and tied the wheels to it and climbed up and took the weight from the scales.

The easiest way to weigh the bike is to weigh yourself on some bathroom scales. Then pick up the bike and weigh yourself again. The difference is the bike weight. If you have digital it's quite accurate.0

You know what...I feel really, really silly now
Why the hell did i fanny about with wood, rope and vans when i could have held the wheels and stood on the scale like you said :oops:0 -

Just google the specs to find the weight then add 1kg for any packaging. Never failed for me.0
