GPS recorder & route follow

Hello,
i had 2 Garmin edge 305 units so far - love them, only they keep shutting down in the middle of the ride (Which is why i had 2 of them, i liked it enough to bu a second one even with this design issue they have).
But now, i am looking for a new model which is more reliable and will appreciate reviews from others.
what do i look for in my GPS?
- reliable for mountain biking
- recording of track info + good Elevation measurements
- ability to follow previous routes i did or others
- price of ~200-250$
i do not look for maps, though.
anybody knows the Holux devices (http://www.holux.com/JCore/en/products/ ... sp?pno=401 )?
other devices?
