nice sunshine, quiet trails, what could be better?

well, ended up going over my bars, pinch puncture, lost control 3 times (loose stones), cuts, bruises and i think ive broken my little toe

still had a fantastic time though, had to take my bike out after having the rear shock serviced with new frame bearings and chainset

first time on the monkey trail, brilliant, need lots of concentration

cant wait to be back for more brutality :P

oh, and if anyone sees a visor stuck in a tree trunk, that'll be mine

My first time over there last weekend was awesome, had a blast on some of the newer and older sections ,though telling them apart was hard as the newer sections were in worse condition.........but that makes it all the more fun in my books anyway. Loved some of the more technical parts where these 750mm bars they keep blabbering on about in MBUK wouldn't have made it through the trees. Think some more hardcore plain bike wrecking trails are on the cards for me though might hit the black route once i get some decent tyres

Haha, we noted the point about the bars the other week.

Went sunday with the wife and my brother, did the whole monkey trail for the first time and actually managed to ride everything except for two of the more technical rock garden descents :D I think that I may have broken my thumbs on the braking bumps though
  • Live right on the cusp of the place and love it. Have been riding up there since i was a little kid. Must say that the 'trail's are good and the Monkey is fantastic. I do like to mix it up and ride off piste so to speak as theres some cracking singletrack all over there
    4 wheels bad
    2 wheels good
    1 wheel for fun

Yeah, Alex takes us on some epic rides sometimes as he knows it like the back of his hand.

I'd get lost if I tried it on my own.

Monkey was great. I was the one whinging about the bar and tree related doom to HD there <points> I'm sure at some points my bars (and on occasion, shoulders) were scraping trees at both sides.

Alex's special rides make me both tired and confused.
