Hi, i bought a bike off of my friend, i have been told it is a old Spank, but i am not completely certain if thats true.
I have gathered so far:
It is made from steel (thin) (could be wron)
It is a geared frame with no drop outs
It has no gear or brake cable routing
It is for 100mm forks
It is disk brake only

The colour of the frame was a dark red but it has since been painted as you can see from the pics

Bottle cage and mudguard mounts but none for the brake or cables? That seems a little strange to me.
Rock Lobster 853, Trek 1200 and a very old, tired and loved Apollo Javelin.

The box section chainstays make me think its alloy.

It reminds me very much of a baracude frame that was sold under a variety of different brandings around 2002 -2003. I one of these was the harcore brand as well. Its a fairly generic frame design The give away is the crud guard mounts under the down tube..
I think the cable guide and v brake mounts have been ground off before it was resprayed.

What size is the seatpost? Sometimes this can be a give away.

The brake bosses havent been grounded off as its completely smooth, the seatpost diameter is around 31.8 but more closer to 32. It doesnt sound like an alloy, my friend has steel and mine sounds identical. Anymore pics can be posted if you want.

Do the magnet test, that'll tell you if its steel or not.

It looks more like alloy from the welds.

Sounds have nothing to do with it lol.
