New Forest LBSs

My parents are heading down there for a week or so (it’s one of their most favourite places in the world) and I have asked if I can take my bikes down for a couple of nights and bunk at their rented accommodation.

I have plenty of routes planned as I know the area well thanks to holidaying down there when I was younger, but I could do with having one or two bike shops recommended in case I need to top up on tubes and other paraphernalia like energy bars etc. Location isn't so critical because I’ll have my car as well… I’m aware of the one in Brockenhurst opposite the Forrester’s Arms, but that’s it.

Thanks

Ben

The guy you want is Flasheart, he lives down there and can no doubt guide you to every single shop in the area.

You might find he'll charge you a small fee at the moment though.

Thanks for the advice chaps. I might pay a visit to Primera regardless, if it's the be all and end all of bike shops!

If I make any purchases I will advise the shop to forward you 10%, Flash.

    Flash You missed a few
On Yer Bike in Bournemeouth Charminster road (basic and geared more to hybrid and MTB)
There is another one in Holdenhurst road in Bournemouth I have never been to.
There is Bike world in Ringwood (MTB based but stocks tubes, chains and accessories for Road bikes as well. They have always been helpful when I have been in there)
I would avoid Forest Leisure cycling in Burley it is primarily a hire place but they do stock some bits and pieces but they are expensive and unhelpful.
If you are north of the A31 there is the bike shop at Sandy Balls holiday camp in Fordingbridge and Stonehenge Cycles in Salisbury.

Enjoy the break whatever sort of riding you do

Thanks for the input Richard. Yes we're north of the A31 and I know Fordingbridge and Sandy Balls (both the campsite and the experience!). I shall print this thread and stuff it in my jersey pocket.

Must say I'm looking forward to cycling through Woodgreen (had some good chub out of the Avon there as an aside), Godshill etc... And is it Blissford Hill? I need to give that a go!

Yeah but as I have a 20 mile ride just to get to Primera (I no longer have a car) that would also involve me partaking of lots of beer.so ....
