Mid-Week rides in Leeds

A friend lives in the city and I quite fancy staying down there for a few days and doing some riding. Was just wondering if there's anywhere cyclists meet each day of the week? I fancy getting out into the Dales and that way but don't know the area particularly well, and I don't think I'd even be able to find my way in or out of the city to be honest!
