My commute to work is pretty short at 3 miles, but its pleasant enough and takes in a local heritage site, the river thames and ... Brentford High Street! Anyway, I was reading another forum this morning and came across this story ...

Thankfully my canal towpath route is not quite that wild. Deer,squirrels and the occasional cow are all I've ever had to deal with.
