Jon,
Nice bumcheeks, they don't half attract a bit of fondling

Stop it, the ones above are Terry anyway, you know there's only one person who fondles my bum in the forest :shock:It's easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission.

I Went up there for the first time today, ihappened to park next to another first timer who's riding skills were similar to mine ,riding round with someone else added a bit of edge to to the ride. The trail is brill with something for everybody, liked the boardwalk sections allthough i fell of the log, all in all well worth the trip. A credit to the people that have built the trail0

thanks ill have to come have a ride some time0

Rode this for the first time last night (twice), a great little addition to the trails and some surprisingly tricky features - that short bridge with the little rock garden in front of it seemed particularly awkward given its diminutive size!
The rest of the trails seemed in good nick too despite the rain this week. Hully Gully is a lot less loose than it was a few weeks ago and even more fun as a result. The only downside to the whole loop is that the last climb up to Whelpstone Crag is becoming trashed by people riding around the obstacles. This section does feel particularly tough if you stick to the intended line over the rocks - it feels pretty similar to the Lee Quarry black to me! Maybe the trail just needs widening a little so that the rocks are avoidable by those who don't want to have to get off and walk this bit? That's a pretty minor gripe though and it certainly didn't spoil the ride - Gisburn is ace, hopefully I'll be able to get to a dig day at some point soon.It doesn't have to be fun to be fun...0 -
Rode it the other day too
Really liked it, great work!
As stiffee_rider said though, the entrance is a bit of a pita!0 -
I'm up there in a weeks time with a couple of mates to do a course with Ed Oxley as well.
Can't wait - that section looks great.0 -
Is that the second of the short bridges or the first. I think the run up to the second one has collapsed (sorry dodgy drystone walling technique on my behalf  ).
The first one gives you something to think about to.It's easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission.

1st one is good yeah... didn't realise at 1st so i had to back the bike up and go again0

The second - the first is also fun but felt a bit easier. I wouldn't worry if the wall has collapsed - it makes a great little rock garden to negotiate. It's still totally doable and good fun!
Looking forward to a return trip - I bottled the big log ride last night and it's nagging at me. It's higher than it looks in the pictures! It doesn't have to be fun to be fun...0 -
It's the fact is was a smoothish ramp a few weks ago that worries me. We'll rebuild it as a more sustainable rock garden so it'll still give people pause for thought.
I've only managed the first of the two big logs, first time I rode that section I just went for it, got halfway across and realised there was no bail out option. It is certainly a lot higher than it looks, the log is a good 4ft off the ground in places. It's easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission.

Was up there today. Great section, really, really enjoyable - cheers for puttin in the effort to build in! Several big stones seemed to be loose though, might be the water washing material away. Aside from that he whole route really gave me confidence in my technical ability
I did the first log the first time round with the intention to try the second on the return leg but i was knackered and just wanted back so just hit the fireroad on the return.
First time there and will definately back, worth driving the extra distance rather than Dalby i think! Just irritated with myself, chickened out of a couple of things i normally wouldn't hesitate to do, dunno if its cos it was wet or what.
One thing i would like to see is something like chicken wire, or just something to make it grippy, on the northshore stuff, mate lost his wheels from under him and i nearly did the same, they were very slippy in places.0 -
Rode this section twice while on Ed's 'stop crashing' course. Must say I was impressed. Didn't attempt the long log ride (you can't tell from the pics but the front end of it is quite high on the trail side, so bottled that one. Everything else was good. I struggled on the rocky ramp to the little bridge the first time but second time with a little advice from ed, no problems.
Good work guys keep it up0
