Progel shorts/Liner

Are the Progel shorts/liner worth getting or should I invest in a decent pair of lycra shorts?

I commute in and have been wearing some endura liner shorts with some baggy MTB waterproof shorts but doing the London To Brighton and prob need something a bit more supportive/comfier

    I've not done the London Brighton, but would have thought you'd be better off with a decent pair of lycra shorts. I use dhb's from wiggle which are good value for money, if money is tight.
