    I work in Housing for an LA. We had posters regarding DV all over our Customer Services which had a Woman curled up and lying in a corner. I said to my Colleague that it was an awful picture to show. He pointed out that that was probably the point, to shock people. I said "thats not what I meant, she isnt covering her ribs properly, you could easily get another dig in there".

    I have dealt with Women who have suffered Domestic Violence and it isnt funny in the least, seriously, I cant imagine what would be going on in a Mans head to do that.

    I have also had one case where it was the other way around, he took out an injunction against her due to her bashing him up.

    What tips do you want? How to get into your missus' ribs better or how to deal with your missus beating you up?

    I think if you really wanted tips (rather than just creating a provocative thread) then you might have provided some more details in the OP.

    apparently I heard that now the woman in question who was attacking her husband went a little too far and did some quite bad damage to this guy!


    I have another mate , much younger who is always getting beaten up by his missus, practically uses the poor guy like a punch bag..

    It's surprisingly common to find such a situation. It's not really taken seriously yet, the fact that how a male can be abused by a woman seems to strike some people as odd, yet it does occur.

    government stats since 2000 show that about a third of all domestic violence victims are in fact men.

    the other side of this is that men are even less likely to report domestic violence than women are, so the true figure is likely to be nearer 50%....

    +1 when I opened the thread I thought it was going to have a sensible and adult debate rather than trivialising a major issue in our society.

    You are welcome to add to this sensible debate. Especially if you have witnessed domestic violence. Hopefully if we talk about it we can find a cure.
