Dauphine Stage 7 *SPOILER*

Tjalingii, De Weert and Perez ahead for some time now, but only 15 seconds on the peloton now (87 km to go).

The Cote de Domancy is a tricky one, aqnd done no less than 5 times. Normally this would be another great opportunity to attack the GC leader, but can't see really anyone going for that now.
Seriously wonder how many riders will bother to do those 5 laps with in total more than 10 km at over 9% average climbing - could be a very small peloton at the finish

Bit by bit the attacking group is growing, to 17 riders now, including Millar, relatively high GC placed Pauriol, and, with PTP interest, EBH. Still, they only have 40 seconds, with 80 km to go

I guess you are right there, like in Tour of Ireland.

Interestingly, Hinault's solo WC win in 1980 went over this climb.....20 times!

The 17 had a 2 and a half minute advantage, now on the finish laps back to just over a minute, and the group starts to fall apart on the second climb of the Domancy. 3 more of those to go.

EBH now with 4 others at the front - still 37 km to go. I wonder whether that was a smart move - more teams might be willing to chase if the group falls apart

Yeah! Edvald put the hammer down and the others had to claw their way back.

Maarten Tajallingii (Rabobank), Kevin De Weert (Quick Step), Alan Perez (Euskaltel), Francisco Perget (Caisse d’Epargne), Egor Silin (Katusha), Ivan Santaromita (Liquigas), Christophe Le Mével (Française des Jeux), Sébastien Minard (Cofidis), Laurent Lefèvre (BBox Bouygues Telecom), Arkaitz Duran Aroca (Footon Servetto), Dario Cataldo (Quick Step), Edvald Boasson Hagen (Team Sky), Remi Pauriol (Cofidis), Mario Aerts (Omega Pharma Lotto), Christian Knees (Milram), Inaki Isasi (Euskaltel Euskadi) and David Millar (Garmin Transitions).

7.5km and the five have 30secs - going to be a tight one. I hope Edvald picks up the pace.

Sicard I think attacks the peloton and catches a few earlier attacks with ease.

I don't think allure means what you think it means.

I'm confused. EBH is ahead of Contador on a hill. Does that mean he's doping?

Yes, EBH finds his legs and takes the win. Not surprised he is fresh being 45mins back on GC......

Sig line getting a workout this weekend.

I guess congratulations are in order for Janez. He acquitted himself very well on the climbs even if it surprised me a lot and I cannot be excited by him.

Eddy Biggles Hardon secures his Tour spot, in a stage befitting of this............er.........race.

i would like to see a stage designed like that in the tour de france. obviously not instead of a summit finish, but instead of one of the "waste the mountains with a 50k run in" stages they have favoured recently.

Thank the Lord. You're excitable enough as it is.

Really enjoyed that stage - good win for EBH but best of all, Contador beaten for the overall. BRILLIANT!
