Sombrio gloves-sizing

Hi,
I bought a pair of Sombrio Forensic gloves from CRC and when I tried them on they had a very strange fit. The fingers were fine (a bit tight but they'll wear in), but the thumb was really really big, I had at least another centimeter if not more. I've never had a problem
with glove sizing, but these were totally wrong. Has anyone else noticed this in the Sombrio gloves? Are all cycling gloves similar sizing?
