............well do they?

broke my nose when i was a nipper and i seem to be bothered with pollen again this year - watching the cycling today i noticed quite a few of the pro's using these, would they assist me?

Any thoughts, experiances or abuse gratefully received.

Well they definitely help get air in through the nose. If you struggle to breathe easily with a closed mouth then the difference will be most noticeable. Also helps to get air in while snotty and when chewing food which is handy.

I use them for sleeping because I hated waking up with a dry mouth but don't usually use them for cycling because I tend to sweat them off after an hour.

Worth a try though, think they're £3.50 for packs of 10 in Tesco.

ASk the Boulder, he used to ride with them on. Or just stuff your nostrils with cotton wool before you ridem stretches the old nasal passages out a bit.

Well, according to Magnus on Eurosport today they help quite a bit - Jani was using one and didn't seem to do him much harm!

Do they work for people who've never broken their nose? I'm climbing ventoux in the summer and need all the help I can get. Is it worth breaking my nose so I can use one?

I had one of them red bikes but I don't any more. Sad face.

they are slightly springy and want to lie flat so work by pulling you nasal cavities open when stuck to them, broken noses have nowt to do with it.

coil some zip ties in each nostril, or from each nostril to the eyebrows, then you open your nostrils up wider by lifting your eyebrows.

I'll break your nose for you if you want. Buy me 8 pints and a lamb Bhuna, then we can have a fight in a car park. Or a taxi rank, or if you want to skip the curry and have a scrap in a kebab house, all options catered for.
Genuine limited time offer, I don't offer this to anyone y'know.

Yellow one are the best for this application I think.

This reminds me, I need more zip ties too.

Sounds like a fair offer, but surely there are cheaper/easier ways to break my nose... shall I start a new thread for suggestions?

Another good reason for getting your nose broken - the bruising will cover up the patches in your tan! :D
