Richmond to Embankment commute time?

I am about to make an offer on a flat in Richmond. I work at Embankment and am planning on cycling to work every day on a single speed. How long do you think this will take?! I am no slow coach but I don't want to get there really sweaty.

Does anyone on here have a similar route?

Thanks

There may be a few on here who take that route

I'm Mortlake to Old Street via Putney bridge, NKR, embankment. Takes 40-45 minutes with a third of that in the last mile or so.

    Hurrah!

40-45 mins is about right. (I'm Kingston -> Tower Bridge via Embankment.)

Do you get tired and slow down?

perhaps think about building your distance over time.....

Another vote for 40-45 minutes. Depending on exactly where you are in Richmond commuting through the park is a lot nicer, and probably quicker.

A lot depends on what time you're travelling; coming across some of the other posters on this thread can easily cut 5 minutes or more off your trip - albeit you'll arrive as a quivering wreck :)

    Thanks for the quick replies.

It looks like a nice route into work, fingers crossed the landlord accepts my offer.

40-45mins was the time I was thinking so thats reassured me.

    Cheers.

Why would you go that way when you could go south circ, Wandsworth roundabout, Battersea riverside and Battersea bridge?

So you can avoid the south circ, Wandsworth roundabout and Battersea Bridge? :)

Whilst the Embankment is greta fun, I'm no fan of the huge queues of traffic that seem to congregate at its western end, and onto NKR. I also don't ind Wandsworth roundabout not unpleasant. Each to their own.

Me too, nice smooth surface, can generally keep up with the motorised traffic, good chance to practice some "negotiation".

:D Glad you worked out what I was on about from that mangled sentence. I still go over it occasionally from Trinity Road to Wandsworth Bridge or vice versa, and don't usually have any problems.
