Dauphine Stage 5 - SPOILER
The riders are now descending the Lautaret, with 5 riders in the lead:
Pasamontes (GCE), Champion (ALM), Pinot (FDJ), Capecchi (FOT), Martinez (EUS)
But a bigger group behind and the bunch not far behind.
The climb up to Chamrousse is a pig on a hot day and then descent is tricky stuff. Will we get a ding-dong between the GC favourites or will they wait for tomorrow.

Almost took a punt on Champion for this stage. Still think it will come back together though.0

I went for a long shot with Kristjan Koren. Liquigas haven't unleashed a young superstar in, ooh, a few weeks... another one is due any time now I reckon.0

Lots of chit chat between Bert and Jani up this climb.0

Unlucky. Woulda got you 3 points. Which is 3 more than everyone else got.
Kind of what you would expect from a pointless stage."Science is a tool for cheaters". An anonymous French PE teacher.0 -

something like that i suspect... maybe just today though..."If I was a 38 year old man, I definitely wouldn't be riding a bright yellow bike with Hello Kitty disc wheels, put it that way. What we're witnessing here is the world's most high profile mid-life crisis" Afx237vi Mon Jul 20, 2009 2:43 pm0 -
Having watched this stage, along with the Giro, I have come to the conclusion that the Tour riders should strap on a pair and properly race when it's a mountain stage that doesn't end up as a mountain top finish.
Hopefully the presence of Basso will be motivation enough for some of the favourites to give it some going down. It clearly can be done if you want it to. Today, they clearly didn't.0 -
Just watched the highlights for this and many congratulations to Navarro. Attacking from 38km out and taking the win takes some talent.Contador is the Greatest0
