Is it possible to be too keen?

After three weekends off the bike in a row thanks to some truly appalling weather, and a pinched nerve in my back (now fixed) it's a long weekend here coming up.

Weather forecast is good: sunny skies, temps around 17 deg. Back is good, or at least as good as it gets these days... Bikes are all fettled up. New riding kit arrived in the post, so at least I will look good, even if I am riding like cr@p.

I'm thinking big ride Saturday, hills for 100 k, then easy Sunday with friends for coffee and watching-the-world-passing-by down at the beachfront cafe. Monday just keep riding anywhere till I can't turn the cranks any more, then phone home for the broom wagon to come and get me.

Can you tell I'm looking forward to it? :D

    Go for it... When you can't ride... Weather, work etc you will find you will have plently of time for not riding..

    Good start too. Friday afternoon drinks in the office. Newish colleague comes in, (doesn't know I'm a nutcase cyclist), grabs a beer and a handful of peanuts.

    "So, what are you up to this evening?" he asked, then stuffed mouth with peanuts, takes big swig of beer.

    "Going home to shave my legs" I deadpan.

    Colleague spits beer and peanuts all over himself.

    Priceless!
