Hi guys,
I want to fit a 10mm Spacer into my '10 RS Rev Team Dual Airs and just need some guidance please.
Is it possible to just fit the spacer and then re-assemble the forks without doing anything else or will it require the present oil to be drained and then refilled etc... I have d/loaded the SRAM tech manual but it guides you through a whole service, I just want the spacer fitted.
If I do need to re-oil what amounts and weights of oils will I need?
Can anyone advise or link to a good guide please?
Thanks guys

you will need oil.
the volumes are in the manuals.

Thanks Nick,
So it looks like I'm going to have to take the forks apart and remove the lowers?Orange 2010 P7 - Custom Build - My New Bikey Poos

just remember the forks changed for 2009 and you still need to add oil to the lower leg."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

have to disassemble the forks... oil is needed... just follow the instructions and its simple.
make sure you have everything before you start!
if not confident then get your lbs to do it.......0 -
i dont see any big difference in the assebly but the sizes may be different as from 08 parts are not compatable with the newer bits.
again make sure you have the Sram manual to hand."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

I can confirm that it did work. Upped my forks to 120mm. Took about 15 minutes. Unscrewed the top cap (after letting the air out), then the bottom bolt, then pushed the threaded rod with the negative valve on it up into the fork leg. When it appeared out of the top I removed the spacers and then put it all back together.

Cool, what did you push the threaded rod out with? Which leg did you do this through (haven't got info with me here)
Did you need anymore oil?
Looks like I might be able to do this then? Otherwise its £20 through TFtuned?Orange 2010 P7 - Custom Build - My New Bikey Poos

I got a helper to keep the bike on it's side, so I didn't lose any oil.
I used an allen key, one of these kind of ones:
to push the rod up. A 6mm one, as recommended in the blog, means that the valve core doesn't get pushed in.
It's all done on the leg with the air spring, so the side with the valves.
The black 'C' shaped things are the spacers:0 -
Did oil Start leaking when u pushed the threaded rod w/ Neg valve up?
Mine is the Reba 09 model. How do u add oil..through the top?
Thanks

Note to self..read threads first!
Cheers bud- so tilt on it's side and do it is the key!0 -
took the spacer out of my revs in about 20 mins last week (its not harder than adding a spacer).
P7 is now at 150mm and loving it!0 -
I opened up the rebas today - No spacer was found!
Spose I have to buy some revs now :-(
Thanks for the advice anyhoo
