    What's DNA in French?

Bordry is going to be all over this.

He's ironing his best polyester short sleeved shirt and tie as I type this.

May I boldly predict the TdF will be more of a shambles than the 06 version.

It's the usual French initiated ploy to destabalise some teams before the TdF.

It will be sad if Bertie can't ride, especially after 2008. I think he's far from clean but then that's just my mad theory. Nothing on him more than any of the others so if he has to miss a 2nd TdF because of the team it will be tragic.

Ah, the pesky French. If only they'd leave those syringe users alone.

By investigating a French sponsored team? That'll show those dastardly French... Oh wait.

the thing with all these stories is they all just seem to die a death and never go anywhere.

You also have to wonder why the French are looking into this rather than the UCI

Because it's a breach of French law?

But yes, it's an investigation and not a court case. It could come to nothing or just slapped wrists.

They're looking at whether a crime has been committed. And they have access to the medical waste which the UCI don't.

    Question for the forum experts:

If "blood spinning" is against WADA rules...............
The analysis of these syringes by the Parisian laboratory Toxlab revealed the presence of blood platelets. This in turn could be an indication of a doping method called "blood spinning", where a high concentration of the rider's own blood platelets are re-injected to his body to accelerate recovery, a performance-enhancing method prohibited by the World Anti-Doping Agency.

.........how come footballers can use it as a recovery technique for injury?
When injuries do occur the players could receive hi-tech "blood spinning" or platelet-rich plasma (PRP) treatement. Blood is taken and spun in a centrifuge to remove red blood cells and concentrate the platelets which help to repair and regenerate tissues. The effect is similar to cortisone and aids the repair of tendons and muscles.

Most likely one of the journos is wrong. My guess - the second one. Blood spinning certainly used to be allowed a few years ago but probably has been banned since. The journo then borrows from some old article they've googled without releasing it can't be used any more.
