Ive removed the forks from my hardrock sport 09 along with the headset and headset cups. However, I cant seem to fit the spacers/crown races in the correct order so that the forks fit properly, they either dont push down far enough, leaving the bearing open to ingress of dirt etc., or the fork wont push down far enough? Anyone know the order or have a hardrock they would be so king to have a look at the way it goes together.
Thanks

See if you can find a diagram for the headset and follow the instructions. You'll have something the wromg way round or in the wrong place.

it has FSA headset cups but no model embossed on the outside, would it be pressed internally. I know fsa have lots of there models with exploded diagrams on this site but its findng the model number of the ones on the bike.

Seemed to have it sorted. read up on the basic assembly and looked at some similair fsa headsets and put it together. seems smooth despite no greasing yet and although one of the shims is slightly loose, it seems to be right, no fork movement, smooth steering and solid.
