Struggling with tyre pressures

Ndawn: try altering the valve on the front of the pump column just above the base. If that's too tight you won't get air in, if it's too loose the air will escape. I have two yellow coloured JoeBlow track pumps and both are used regularly and work absolutely fine
Jaydoubleyou: You're missing the lightbulb moment. Really small mini pumps for MTB work but take a lot of pumping. Slightly larger mini pumps slightly easier. The larger the pump the higher volume of air it holds so look at the track pump next to the mini pump. Do you not see that the volume of air pushed in a single stroke is enormously different.
Once you get a track pump there's no going back. Much, much easier due to that volume of air, TNT-style handle and wide base for you to put your feet on whilst pumping. Bike pumps will become resigned to a backup when stuck on the road. Also, track pumps now conveniently come with switchable heads so you can fit to either presta or schraeder and look after the whole family with no more changing the head and insert over.
You seriously won't look back once you have one.0 -
Cheers Paul64 I notice that the other day, I didn't know what it was for. I shall try tweaking that to see if it helps.0
