Good routes near Musselburgh?

Guys,
I've just ordered my first ever 'proper' mountain bike !
Having taken advice on this website I've gone for the Carrera Fury.
Now I'm looking for somewhere to ride.
I live in Musselburgh, 6 miles east of Edinburgh, on the coast.
I'm looking for something pretty gentle (not that fit), preferably away from traffic (not that confidenton the roads).
If anyone has any suggestions that would be great

    Marcus locally you have :

    New hailes woods
    Old railway route from Cousland to East Saltoun
    (Leading of this route you have Woodhall picnis site , woodland trails going to Pencaitland from Ormiston and Saltoun woods).
    At Gladsmuir you have butterdean which seems small but has easily 5 miles of singletrack.
    I could go on and bear in mind woods in Dalkeith country park not even mentioning miles in the Pentlands and lammermuirs.

    Enjoy....

    Also be very carefull at Carberry as those tracks are brutal and you will end up with broken bones.
