  • Whereabouts is cadence? My in-laws are near Burton-on-Trent and cadence's website say that they are too but doesn't seem to give an actual address.
  • Its in Barton under Needwood from Adrians house.
Details given once you book a session...
    Well worth it...

Has anyone used bikerepairman.co.uk for a bike fit? I found them after googling for a North East bike fitter. When I asked them for details they said:

The price is £39.99 and the process takes around an hour. We look
at your riding position from all aspects, find out your background and
history and the type of riding you will be doing. Only then do we look at
adjustments. These may be to the stem height/length/angle, bars, seat
height, saddle fore and aft adjustment and tilt. It may also include advice
on cranks, pedals and cleat position. If you are interested please call for
    a booking on 01661 830618.

It's now been 2,000km since my bike fit with Adrian, so I thought it was time to update my blog post with some longer term observations in case they help anyone....

    If you're interested it's here: http://girodilento.com/bikefit-with-adrian-timmis-of-cadence-sport

    Still whole-heartedly recommended.

Just in case anyone is wavering I'll add my two pence... On Nap D's recommendation I had a fit with Adrian start of August. Almost three entertaining and illuminating hours later I discovered it was a wonder I ever finished a ride, so out of synch was my set up. After tweaks galore and a 12cm stem to replace the eleven my bike arrived with everything about my ride is improved out of all proportion. Never had so much fun nor felt so rewarded for my efforts on the bike as I do now - and that's not even mentioning the footbeds! Top class all round.

Just to add - after a visit to see Adrian last week I can honestly say he has in 3 hours transformed the way I pedal ! and having been pedaling for 35 years many of these struggling with getting saddle height / reach etc right.... not to mention the added comfort of the sidas footbeds.

I'm now pedalling using the whole of both legs - in circles
    Brilliant -
  • Any one who is considering a bike fit, really just go and see Adrian, he is fantastic, cant think of anyone who is doing bike fit who has done the Tour, Olyimpics etc etc, your not just getting a bikefit, you are getting a wealth of experience.
Helmand Province is such a nice place.....
  • I've just had a bike fit from Cadence Sport. £100 including fitted footbeds. Adrian does an excellent job and after 2 rides everything seems easier and much more comfortable. I did have the same from a well know central London outfit about 2 years ago which for the exact same service cost £250 (the footbeds were about £80 from memory) and I have now found did not fit me correctly (and did not take the time that Adrian does in reviewing, changing and making sure you are happy).

+1 for Adrian and Cadence Sport

    Regards, Harry

Great news! Ada managed to get back on the bike yesterday after a long lay off following his accident last year...

Thought I will bring back this thread and tell about my great experiance at cadence sport.

So I arrived and had a nice cup of coffee and a chat. Then Adrian took a few measurements from my feet and legs and then made my custom footbeds. These footbeds are great. My feet feel so much more supported in the shoe and I really do struggle to think how I managed before.

Next Adrian sorted out my saddle height and position and also stem length/height etc. I was moved down and back and straight away everything felt better. Also my stem was too long and my bars were angled slighty upwards which was causing the pain in my neck and shoulders, now with a shorter stem and the correct bar position this pain has totally gone.

Next Adrian moved on to my cleats, I have just switched to speedplay pedals because I always had a slight pain on the inside of my knee so I thought the added float would help.
But I was so wrong, it turns out my feet angle to the outside (i.e they don't sit level if that makes sense). Adrian had to put 3 angled shims on the cleats and also one under the insole inside the shoe. The difference this caused is night and day. Adrian even took the angled shims out and as soon as I pedalled the niggle on the inside of me knee was there. I now have no float in my speedplays and I have done about 150 miles since the fit and not even a hint of any pain.

I really can't recommend Adrian enough, since the fit everything feels so much easier on the bike. If I get a new bike then I would 150% go back and get another bike fit with Adrian.
