Was just getting sludge tubes for my mtb online when I noticed that you can get No Flats tubes for roadies - has anyone used them? Do they work? Are they heavy, or really heavy?

I tried them on Mrs Heckler's commuting bike (which was a claude butler roadie) which was picking up broken glass on a weekly basis from the sea-side bike lane. Total failure to be honest, may have stopped punctures, but hard to guess as within a couple of weeks the sealant had leaked into the valve, gone solid and prevented any air getting into the tyre.
  • I have tried them on my commute. They were useless. They didn't stop me getting punctures at all. In fact, I had more punctures riding with them than normal tubes, despite cycling the same route. :? They're more expensive, heavier, and they make cornering feel weird. I'm definitely not going back to them.

If you have removable core tubes, then you can put some stans sealant in the tube. This works much better in my experience.

Well that's not a ringing endorsement then, I've had very few punctures on the road since I switched to GP4000s so I don't feel that much need of extra protection.

The mtb tubes just arrived yesterday, btw they were ordered 4pm, delivered 9am next day, chapeau to CRC.
I can't believe how heavy they are (Dr Sludge in this case), but I reckon they're worth the weight, I've covered 1000s of miles on and off road with them and only ever had 1 puncture - mind you that was quite entertaining with green slime being sprayed everywhere!
