i've bought some juicy 3's off a guy in work and have just fitted them. they're only about 3 months old and look to be fine, however the pads are rubbing on the discs really badly and the lever feels a bit spongy. i've taken the wheel off and pushed out the calipers with a knife but when i put the wheel back on and pull the lever again the pads rub on the disc again. do they need bleeding?

sorry if this isn't enough information but as some of you know i'm a mechanical retard :?

have you bedded then in yet?

have you tried aligning the calipers correctly?

normally a bleed is the last thing one needs to do.

    ok, cheers nick.

i'll have a look at doing those things.sorry for always asking the most basic questions but everyone has to learn, right?
  • yes indeedy, to adjust them, loosen to the two bolts at the top and bottom of the caliper, give the lever a jolly good squeeze about 3 or 4 times, then squeeze it firm, so that the wheel cant move and tighten the bolts, this will adjust them :D
