Riders are needed for a series of 3 TLI races on Saturdays, near Worksop.

The first series of 3 produced good racing, but the second series is lacking entries, so needs some support.

Have a look at http://www.nmrrl.org.uk/saturday_league.html

The website says you ride 2 marshal 1, but that is not correct, you ride all three, and you should bring somebody to help marshall if at all possible.

Get yer entries in.

Is there a chance the series might be cancelled? That'd be a real bugger for me cos I missed out on the Thursday series and there aren't that many BC races nearby.

    Btw you racing tomorrow night?
    More problems but still living....

Yer, racing tomorrow night. Forecasting rain I think  Will say hello if I spot you tmoz, you still in red and black??

Good circuit though, had a ride round it a few weeks ago, 17 times up a little digger of a hill, sprint is an uphill drag also.

I think there is a chance Saturday series might be cancelled if entries dont increase, I hope not also, I have enjoyed them so far
  • There is a slim chance that the series may not run. Basically the low entry numbers have had an effect on marshals. Safety comes first and although we would prefer larger fields we can't allow marshalling duties to be cut.

Pete Dungworth is the driving force behind all this and we are not sure why the numbers are so low compared with the NMRRL. One big step forward would be for all riders to bring a marshal. This as we all know isn't easy. The Mrs is hardly going to up her afternoon to stand on a corner with the hi viz vest on waving a flag!!

If numbers were higher we could adopt the NMRRL approach by marshalling one in three races. Its a big shame as the circuit is a cracker and alot of effort has gone into this from Pete!

don't want to offend any organisers, but the rules at the bottom seem a bit draconian. i'm new to the TLI stuff, but the 2 leagues i've participated in races in have nothing like that.

is having to enter full series the norm in most places?

It says entries are closed - might be worth updating the website.

I'll stick it on our club website as we aren't that far away - can you just let me know for sure they are still accepting entries and up until when ? Also don't think any of our lot are TLI members - is there a day membership or do you have to get an annual membership ?

    Thanks

it's a hard life if you don't weaken.

From an email I got from Martin Ellis, who is one of organisers..

If you have not entered and have any interest in the Saturday League please enter the 2nd Series immediately in advance by post.
Entries are just £15 for all 3 races to:
Martin Ellis, Lanehead, Salt Hill, Firbeck, Worksop, S81 8LH.
    Cheques made payable to: NMRRL.
These races will be handicapped and riders will be able to ride in all 3 races but we do ask you to try and bring a marshal with you.

Please get your entries to me by SATURDAY 12TH JUNE.

So yes, entries are still open, his email address is htvhlb@yahoo.co.uk.

Quite a few riders entered on the line last race - including ex-pro Chris Walker.

Not sure what you mean by the rules being a bit draconian, the racing certainly isnt run in that spirit. Is handicapped also, or certainly the first series was, so presume the second be.

Thanks Tom, I've updated the site now:

To clarify, you can enter the 2nd series now. We will accept entries on the line at £5.00 per rider. Membership of the TLI is needed. The cost for a full licence is only £16.00 but not sure of the day licence fee.
