I always wanted to be a pro footballer or a test pilot. Even before footballers were paid mega-dosh and even after I'd viewed a tv programme in which it reveilled a 50% mortality rate amongst test pilots.

Wanted a job where I used my hands and Brain(?), did'nt want to go to Uni or anything like that. Now don't like DIY or even doing maintenance on the bike, can'yt be bothered with Puzzels etc. And I'd now love to be a full time student! Go Figure? :?

I wanted to go into space.
  • I wanted to win an Olympic medal. A bronze would have done. Having no hand/eye coordination, stamina or strength meant I didn't bother trying too hard.

I wanted to be a TV camera man, that was based on watching swop shop and realising the camera men were having as much fun as the presenters.

Also wanted to be James Bond, all those gadgets and girls........ 8)

I never really wanted to do anything in particular as a child, once (aged 8) my dad told me i'd never play Scrum Half for Warrington.

In my Teenage years I had 3 dream jobs... I wanted to be a pro cyclist (tried and failed), wanted to be an Army Officer (tried and failed) and wanted to work in politics (tried and failed).

So now i'm content with paying the rent every month and having enough left over for kit and bike bits.

HAHA ditto! Don't seem to recall knowing what I wanted to do when I left school. I really didn't care, every job I've fallen into I've enjoyed so I must be kinda lucky in that respect. No major aims, no disappointments  I think if I could I'd probably go into journalism, but my grammar's so bad there's not a chance in hell

When I left school, my head teacher told my Dad that "I'd never have a job, as long as there was a hole in my a*se!" That's the truth...
I wanted to be a surgeon!

Now, I work for myself, supervising Drilling Operations (not BP one's!), so I failed.

Wish my Dad could see me now, though (and that fcukin' teacher)

I wanted to be a professional cricketer.

It was going quite well (Sussex U-13, U-15, U-19, etc.) until a torn anterior cruciate ligament put paid to that.

Now I just want a 9-5 job that I can cycle to/from - which I've got. So 50% success for me.

In primary school I wanted to be a Spitfire pilot (reading too many war comics probably)

Later, having discovered Sci-Fi, I wanted to be an astronaut. In my mind I should be preparing for a mission to Mars right about now as that was what was expected to happen. Watching the moon landing live on TV (aged 4 and a bit) probably had something to do with this.

In my mid teens, having read all of Erich Von Daniken's books, I wanted to be a parapsycologist / UFO investigator.

The closest I've come to any of these is 'space cadet'. :(
