Which bike shall I buy for £1000.00

Hi, just after some advice/suggestions.

Im after a road bike as have just sold my 2008 Specialized Allez Elite - Didnt really like the ride but have always been a Specialized fan...

Anyone have any ideas whats best out there for £1000 limit...

I have read and heard good things about the Boardman Carbon £999.99 but looks a bit plain to me and not sure if it will be any good? I like the look of the Pinarello FP1 Team Sky copy which is £1099.99

Any other ideas, Bianchi, Felt, Focus, Cannondale, Trek???

Any help much appreciated people.

    I would have a look through some of the other, very similar threads on this topic first. Do a search on 'what bike' and '£1000' - that should give you plenty to read about....

    yepp, remember to use the search forum tool (it says "search" in blue and is a link rather than the Bikeradar search tool at the very top of the page).

    You may find that one of the most popular suggestions is the Allez, which will give you plenty to think about :wink:

    How about a Boardman one for £999 or whatever it is or a Canondale CAAD 9?

    I havent used either but I know they both get good reviews. Alot of people rate the Canondale on here.

    ive got a boardman. not sure what you mean it looks plain not sure its any good. there is nothing there that isnt necessary but what is there is aimed at one thing, fast riding. the bare colour coordinated black looks class imo the review on here is about right. lots of nice bikes about for 1k and this is definately rubbing shoulders with them.

    I've got the CAAD 9 and I love it! Hang on... you're a gooner right? In which case I suggest you get a second hand Carrera off fleaBay! :wink:

    I had one of them red bikes but I don't any more. Sad face.

    If you're after a Spesh - you could look for a pre-owned Tarmac or Roubaix depending on your fit preference.

    Otherwise, in around £1k I'd be very tempted by the offerings from Ribble. Unbelievable value for money.
