i need some hubs to go with a pair of 27 inch rims: http://www.sjscycles.co.uk/product-Jalc ... n-3270.htm
i dont want to spend a fortune, arround £30 front £40-50 rear. something that will fit a 6 speed road casette, if they even exist? - i say cassette as i have the right tools to install it.
i have looked at shimano 105 sets, are they worth the price over the tiagra4500? also if the hub fits 9 or 10 speeds would i just have to buy spacers or something?
thanks

If you want 6-speed, you'll have difficulty tracking down a 6-speed cassette these days and the easiest option is to use a freewheel i.e. screw-on cluster. onto an older style threaded hub. Really need to know the width of your frame as it may be necessary to have it re-set (assuming its steel) to take a modern hub. You may be able to use a 7 speed cassette, depends on whether your shifters are indexed or not.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0

what should i be measuring, the width of the axle?
the gears are friction. does that mean that it wont be limited to a set number of gearl like indexed?0
