In a rare display of irony from Caisse d'Epargne, they've chosen Ruben Plaza to be their last starter as Valverde is not there.

9:08 best time so far from Inaki Isasi from EE.
Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.

    Brajkovic now the fastest.

The official site shows all the times of people who have finished along with the start times of the people still to come (scroll between start, chrono 1 and finish). The last rider starts at 1740 BST.

I hope Le Mevel is able to podium on the final GC. Hopefully a good showing from Soler.

I think ES has coverage from 5 to 6

Interesting to catch a bit of the women's MTB beforehand on Eurosport. At the risk of committing heresy, thought it was quite exciting!

    WHO. IS. THE. CHAMP.

70% fit and he can take them out in the prologues, in the highest mountain stages and the long TTs. Champ, right there. Winning all year round. Sig line time.

OK, just heard a commentary gem - "Alberto Contador - he's such a Trojan."

Any guesses for what that means?

It's got to be looking grim for Biggles going to the Tour now based on that performance.

I thought that maybe he was going to get tricked and then slaughtered by a Greek army.

At least it's better than something heard at a former workplace:

Except he's just said he won't defend the jersey and that the GC isn't for him. We'll see.

Good ride by Geraint today. Looks very lean - almost like wigo's lean transformation last year. Will we see G coming of age this month and next?
