Never done this before: when I replace the bog roll do I have the dangly bit against the wall, or away from it? I think the latter as it allows one handed rip offs easier.

This could have major consequences.

It has been proven through scientific studies that away from the wall is more hygenic.

Never thought about this till I was in Thailand recently.

They steer clear of bog roll and next to most toilets what could only be described as a shower head for spraying er... your crack is there - I never used it.

My friend actually thinks it's a good idea, his point was if you get say, a bit of mud, on your arm you don't just rub it with paper you wash it off with water otherwise it smears.

That's what I thought was the point of my daily shower - I'll carry on using toilet roll with the dangly bit AWAY from the wall.

next to the wall is better, if you have a good holder, it still holds it a half inch or so away, but it looks neater ( i get a bit ocd about that kinda thing) and just works better

Away as in held in the hand or if you're really straining one out on the floor next to the toilet.

last thing you want to be worrying about when touching cloth is where to put the toilet paper.

I have no such dilemma with my bog roll holder

I can spin it round both ways as I drop the kids off...

Wow, that's quite impressive. Since I have a poo almost every day, I've had to replace the toilet roll several times by now.
I wish I was as eficient as you are, Sonic.
