Go to Afan and do W2 or Whites Level is you want a shorter ride.. you won't regret it!

It's one of my favourite trail centres and has a few classic trails. You haven't lived until you've done the initial climb of Whites Level!

Penmachno is a qualtiy trail and if you are intending to stay around North Wales it may be your best bet. Its a very natural trail, technical in places but has some stunning views.

Heres a map of the trail..

Afan forest and Whites level climb isn't bad at all, but it can't be compared to CYB ... different style you see. I actually preffer Cwmcarn's Twrch trail to Whites, but even then both of them very similar. Afan and near standing Glyncowrg though, offers some more trails and mileage ... so for small holiday it's better. But if it's 1 day, you can't beat Cwmcarn ... do 2 laps of excellent Twrch trail and few runs of Y Mynydd downhill runs using an uplift service! Job done.
    What could have been (Video)

I'll choose not put too much stake into someone's opinion who is admittingly terrible though
