A new secure cycle park has just opened in the Brunel West car park. All you need to do is register and pay a one off £10 fee to get hold of a swipe card that gives you 24 hour access.

You can only access the car park with a card and it's covered by CCTV, so your bike is completely safe and secure. Perfect if you commute to work and then want to leave you bike in town on a Friday night!

for more info see here:

What's to stop some thieving Park North/Penhill/Pinehurst scumbag getting hold of a card for a tenner then taking his pick?

Take a look at the photos - you'll see a line of stands for the bikes to be locked to

You need to have two forms of ID to register and the system logs you in and out.

The car park/entrance is well lit and covered by CCTV. You would still lock your bike as normal to the racks inside.

Nothing is full proof, but it's a lot safer than leaving you bike in the open

When you purchase a card you have to give name address details etc - this is logged against the card number and as KB says you lock them up in the normal way - the park is clearly visible to passers by so anyone acting suspiciously would be noticed
Its not perfect but better than locking your bike up in the high street - plus of course it stays nice and dry if it rains

My last bike was stolen from the railway station in the bike park on the platform - nothing's 100%

Sorry...just being cynical. 8 years living in Swindon does that.

Nice to see you also refer to Swindon as Pighill as well Jay. Very apt. Especially in the town centre most nights.
