Hello,
Im looking for a new broadband/phone provider after having nothing but problems with talk talk, and thought the gathered wisdom off the crudcatcher could help.

Can't go wrong with cable (Virgin) though their prices are quite high these days
EDIT: forgot to mention that you will need cable in your area too0 -

Eh? You certainly can when they throttle you.
If you have Sky TV get a bundle - there BB max in completely unlimited - no AUP like others.0 -
Don't get Sky, they are awful.0

Hope thats made things a bit clearer for you !
Avoid AOL - they`re sh1tole ginger b*ll*cks / the ginger ninja0 -

Why do you say that? Mine has been flawless.0 -
Mine has been unbelievably flawed.0

In what way? Mine has never dropped out and never fails to d/l at 1.2mb per second on torrents...0

Just generally slow and we had at least 7 days last month where the service just stopped working and they blamed it on the exchange.0

They say it's Unlimited and you actually beleive that there is no fair usage policy!?! Oh dear my friend... oh dear0 -
I'm running BT with no problems, however the original HomeHub was poop, so you might want a different router (not sure about the newer generation of home hub)Santa Cruz Chameleon

Though I must admit that i used to work for BT in their Broadband OMD department in a managerial role, and so had plenty of experience of the way BTwholesale conduct themselves (all ADSL BB companies have to go through BT Wholesale) so this is why I stick with Cable.0

I'm on BT too, can't fault it. Homehub has a great wifi signal too.0

One good thing about the Homehub is the built in USB Print/file server on 192.168.1.253. though this can be a tad hit and miss depending on firmware and Homehub version.
Funnily enough I just got a call from BT sales trying to tempt me back. I just explained that i wouldn't pay for an outdated technology such as ADSL broadband and that I used to work closely with BT Wholesale and he backed off with the sales pitch0 -
My vote is for O2 with a BT line.
Get quicker connection than my neighbour who is paying a sh1t load more than me for the full BT package. Costs me than £20 for my combined O2(Broadband) and BT(line) bill, happy days.0 -

If it's the sky max package then im very surprised, if it was a lesser package then shame on you, they use bt for the cheap deals.
O2/be internet do get very favourable write ups, i have sky max and love it to bits. The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.

Right.
Seriously, never had an issue with the BB provided by Sky or the TV for that matter. I am on the unlimited package as part of our TV deal.
Now time for me to sit and wait for my internet to implode :roll:0
