The 2010 Tour of Britain takes place over eight days, beginning in Rochdale on Saturday 11th September and finishing in London on Saturday 18th September. It doesn't get close to Southport.

Next Tuesday is the Halfords Tour Series in Southport - http://www.tourseries.co.uk/RoundInfo.a ... PORT&Id=23
    Summer: Kuota Kebel
    Winter: GT Series3

That`s obviously what he meant although Blackpool is only 10 miles from Southport as the crow flies so it does go quite close.

You may find you get a little wet going that route.

Not if you pump enough air into your tyres, it might still be a little bit unstable mind.

On the positive side, it would avoid alot of potholes.

  • Looking at their route through Blackpool.... not very spectator friendly.

Majority of route goes down Yeadon Way by the looks of it, 20metres from my home but could I see it? no, Yeadon Way's walled off from the world!

I don't think there was crash, as I recall Clancy won it for halfords without incident

Feel confused by all the clever replies here, but isn't Steady Rider referring to the series of evening criteriums being held in different towns throughout the UK this summer, the most recent being last week in Portsmouth?
The next is at 19.00 on Tues 8 June in Southport. I think Southport Council are organising a whole day long cycling 'experience' for all ages and abilities, culminating in the criterium.

I can be in Blackpool on Tuesday night! Where do I go?

But seriously. Will be in Southport either by bike or car (as yet undecided). Is it just a case of hit the town centre and it can't be missed or in some bizarre outpost?
  • It's on Lord Street, you can't miss it.
