I have been lurking and not posting for a while having been sickened by a lot of the crap on here.

For some reason though the ambience of the forum seems better and it has dragged me back into posting.

Just wondered if everyone else felt the same?

Better without Soapbox. That attracted too many people who had little interest in the rest of the forum and just wanted to sound off about politics. Back in the C+ days it did nothing but create bad feeling.

It started going downhill from about Jan 2008 IMO.

Then it went flat and all of a sudden it went uphill again.

Last month seems to have been full of aggro about stuff.

There must have been some serious crap on here before.

Personally. Only just started getting involved really. Started reading the forum to get advice in the beginners bit. And there was loads.

First really dipped my toe in during the speed king debacle. Not looked back since.

Keep up the good work people.
  • Better, definitely. Soapbox is not missed, though I know get mine out now and then, but maybe, as what hi fi did which was to ban any political threads in the run up to elections etc. I'm glad the separation of pro race chat and amateur race was made :D

However, one thing is missing: Keith Oates!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I enjoy it on here, you're my extended family I've never met. :D

I enjoy the banter and there is wide range of sujects discussed, from the sublime to the rediculous.

Keep it up folks, I'll keep postin' 'til I get  banned.

I feel most of you will be disappointed, unless you're about 5'7'' with a 30" inside leg in which case there may be a bike or two up for grabs.

As whole i think the forum is entertaining, but as soon as there's a thread about a certain american pro cyclist it takes a nose dive and the personal insults start flying. Which again can be entertaining to read :)

Yes where is Keith, and PBiggs, his knowledge of all things bikely was as big as Cav's ego. And nervexprof and Fixed Phil....ahhh happy days when most of the posts were spent laying into Cycling Weekly and Lance was on his third sachet of epo.

Honestly I do believe there's a little too much trolling but some of the discussions have been interesting. Personally I do my best to keep out of arguments; some of my views are a little odd at times and I'd only scare people
