in the process of changing my bontrager jones xr tires which came on my trek which are 2.20 rear and 2.25 front width, looking at the schwalbe smart sams and wondering whether to go for 2.10 front and back or go with the 2.25 on the front and 2.10 on the rear, any advice appreciated?

Why do you want to change?0

they seem slow on the road, want something a bit more of an all rounder, most people say the tires trek stick on there entry level bikes are poor0

Maxxis Advantages or Ignitors are supposed to be good for low rolling resistance on roads and grippy and sturdy off road tooOrange 2010 P7 - Custom Build - My New Bikey Poos

I wasn't too impressed with the Bontrager XDX tyres that came with my Hifi. After a winter on Highrollers I have ended up witha 2.35 Maxxis Ignitor front and a 2.25 Maxxis Crossmark on the rear......faaaaastAdam.
Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Someone tires, but I have tyres on my bike.
It's no good putting a fast rolling tyre on the bike for the road if you end up with no traction on the trails.
How much tarmac riding are we talking about and what kind of off road conditions are you riding, it would be easier to make some suggestions. Now where's that "Get Out of Crash Free Card"0 -
At the moment 60% on road 40% off, Am thinking of having a couple of sets and switching depending if going on trails. The Maxxis Ignitors do seem from most people to be among the quicker of the all rounders. Suppose ideally i need a better all rounder than what ive got now but without losing too much grip0
