Anyone recommend a good clincher for a sportive I've entered in the Italian Alps (dolomites)? I was thinking of the Vittoria Open Corsa Evo CX....

I just got a set of these, £54.90 for 2 at ribble now, use the voucher code TRIP7 bat the basket checkout. They are excellent tyres for what you want.

I ve used Conti 4000S in the last 2 Maratonas, there maybe slightly lighter or faster tyres but i want reliability as well, they grip amazingly and they r nice an comfy too.

I might go for the 4000S conti's I've heard good reviews and as you say they grip well, you need reliability in these sportives, fast is a plus. I think 4000's are fast enough they are light 205g!
