I think it would have been a lot harder in a year or so, and if that descent had not featured so prominently in post-Tour best photo overviews.

OK, what about this one? Three photos of the same climb. I did this climb a couple of weeks ago; they're not my photo's though (it was raining when I did it  ).

    I thought Mortirolo originally. Zoncolon?

EDIT no, must be reasonably low with the wooded top. Ballon D'Alsace?

    La Berarde

    Col de Rates

Wow, those are some obscure climbs, can't say I've ever heard of them. Great scenery though. Are those your own photos?

Yes they are my own photos. La Berarde is just down the road from Alpe d'Huez, fantastic climb, well worth checking climb...

The topography reminds me of Honister Pass.

Great climb. Not hard, just a real nice stretch and dead quiet. I did it twice and didn't see a single car. There is a great climb opposte the alpe as well which gives a great view of the alpe from the top, and with a tiny bit of cross country loops to the long black tunnel road. Can't remember the name but magic and not a single car either. Goes up to a small ski lift.

Ah FJS, I think it's the Poggio Murrella near the hot springs of Saturnia in Tuscany.

Beautiful looking climb and sounds like just the sort I'd like to see more of in the Tour.
