i know a few 4X riders run short cage shimano road derailleurs for weight and compactness but im a SRAM fan
so question - would SRAM 'exact actuation' road bike rear derailleurs work with their 1:1 MTB shifters?

they say not. just use a short cage sram MTB mech they have a smaller range and are therefore basically the smaller.
