Manchester - Blackpool target times

Hi all,

What sort of times is everyone hoping to do the Manc - Blackpool in?

First time and want to get an idea as to what is a good time to go for, although I suppose 1 puncture and its over!!

    Take spare tubes. Wouldn't be over then.

    Depends what time you're setting off, to quite an extent. I rode it last year, and at times the bike traffic was easily high enough that I couldn't ride as fast as I wanted to. And that's not even taking into account the awful standard of riding on display from some people, which meant I had to be even more cautious.

    IIRC, I did mine in about 4 hours riding time, or about 4h 20m including stops.

    Obviously, it also depends on how fit you are and how fast you normally ride. For some, 4 hours would be a rubbish time; for others it'd be brilliant.
