It's finally done All the bits are in place. I've taking it for a test ride & tweaked a few things during the ride & when I got back. Gears are shifting nicely, brakes are working well but need bedding in & the suspension will need to be tweaked further when I hit the trails properly. It felt very smooth & was very quiet, which is great. Feels kind of strange after getting used to the Trance X5 for the last year & I've gone for clipless pedals so that requires a bit of time to get used to as well. Weighed the bike today & it came in at 29.2Ibs, which is a nice weight saving on the 34Ibs (although not weighed particularly accurately) that the bike was before I started sripping it down. Thanks for everyone's help & advice during this project. I've learnt loads from these forums, which has been invaluable. All that's left is to post a pic & a link to my Flickr page .......... before going out & getting the bike covered in mud & shit!! :?
