Basically the axle path and virtual pivot points are different to a typical FSR.

Not enitrely sure why that matters

The axle path governs how the sus reacts at any given time to the terrain and your input. ie it is related to where the pivot is. If the pivot can move, then you don't get a typical arced axle path. This allows the designer to tune the suspension to act differently at different points in the travel.

Anti squat is a force that opposes the suspension squatting under power [bob]. It is created by chain tension and drive forces from the rear wheel. A designer can try and make it so one opposes the other, reducing bob. But it can cause the pedals to kickback over bumps.

I have an EX9. I Hired a Zesty 314 (I know your on about the 714) last week at GT and didn't like it one bit. Most over hyped bike ever in my opinion. The EX is faster up, down, feels stiffer and just nicer to ride.
